You did it! You married the man of your dreams. The ceremony was beautiful, filled with all of your favorite flowers. Everyone you love watched breathlessly as you walked down the aisle. It was perfect.
Now it’s time to have dinner in the room that you have thought about for months; but the question is, where should you and your new husband sit? With his family? With your family? With the bridal party? Oh no, more decisions.
Today’s bride, by the time the dinner is served, just wants to relax. So she and her new partner are enjoying their first meal as man and wife at a “Sweetheart Table”. A “Sweetheart Table” is simply a small table for the two of you to sit at and talk about the highlights of the day without making small talk with others.
The trend this season is to make this table “over the top”. The front is filled with a lush arrangement of cascading orchids, greenery and the most beautiful roses. Lots of candles and votives create romantic mood lighting for the two of you to dine by. Napkin decor (i.e. individual orchid blooms, rose heads, or flower of your choice) on each plate or napkin completes the look for the table where you will have your first married meal.
Whatever your taste, a “Sweetheart Table” is romantic, it’s private, it’s personal; and after all, it is your day.
